I too experienced the same thing. The “news” site appeared to be working, but in searching blog posts to find out what was up with Google resulted in no results. I think they tried an update and it failed so they rolled back. Its interesting if they are going to use that as a ranking factor, as I don’t think that it is that reliable.

I’m glad it was an error. I got a bit nervous when I chescked my google position to find this message against my site! I thought all my hard work has gone. The thing is that I’ve never seen that message on any google results in the past. It does seem to come up in yahoo from time-to-time though.

I think its really a big mistake because Google will go down if they do that again IMO.

I also came through with same incidence. If you did a Google search between 6:30 a.m. PST and 7:25 a.m. PST this morning, you likely saw that the message “This site may harm your computer” accompanied each and every search result. This was clearly an error, and we are very sorry for the inconvenience caused to our users.
