Something weird happened to Microsoft. It’s getting more generous with every year! Free antispyware, Windows Defender, malicious software removal tool, and now OneCare going to join the freeware family of MS products. It might beat Symantec because personally I don’t consider its products of top quality, but I doubt MS can compete with Kaspersky or TrendMicro. Sometime in the future, but not now. It took years for these companies to develop effective security products, while Microsoft tends to rely on marketing rather than on reliability and efficacy.

This program is no longer available for download (as of 24 June, 2009) from Microsoft and no mention of if and when it will be available again.

So now I can’t beta test this beta of theirs and am just a bit upset of the hoops I had to go through only to find out that you can’t download it now
